On 17th April 2024 UNIDO ITPO Italy joined the conference "Somalia: from the search for the past to the prospect of the future", held in Trieste and co-organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the City of Trieste, the Chamber of Commerce of Venezia Giulia, and the Italian-Somali cultural association "Sagal".

In this framework, UNIDO ITPO Italy's Chief Technical Advisor Dino Fortunato took part as speaker in the panel session "Blue Economy for Development Perspectives in Somalia: Mogadishu-Trieste", highlighting the main activities implemented by UNIDO Somalia in the field.
