On 14th October 2025, UNIDO ITPO Italy hosted its roundtable “Green Industrialization in Africa: Leveraging the Italian Ecosystem under the Mattei Plan”, aimed to create a strategic discussion forum bringing together key public and private stakeholders from the Italian System. 

The initiative focused on three thematic pillars: sustainable industrialization in Africa in the cement, steel, and energy sectors; strategic vision of the Mattei Plan and synergies between institutions and the private sector; and UNIDO's role in coordinating with the Italian system to develop long-term projects. 

The discussion — featuring an institutional remark session followed by a technical roundtable, with the participation of representatives from UNIDO, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, Enel Foundation, Terna S.p.a, Rina S.p.a, Danieli Group, and further companies, associations and universities — allowed to gather insights, share experiences, and define a concrete, long-lasting, and inclusive international cooperation plan that takes into account the needs of the target countries and all stakeholders involved.
