On 7th April 2025 UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the Global Business Forum (GBF) organized by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) and held in Marseille, France, to introduce UNIDO’s Blue Industry Programmatic Framework and work in the field around the world.

At UNIDO, we recognize that oceans, seas, and waterways are not only sources of natural beauty but also engines of economic opportunity. The Blue Economy spans a diverse set of industries from fisheries, aquaculture, marine biotechnology, ocean renewable energy, coastal tourism, and maritime transport, all offering critical pathways for sustainable development.

In this framework, at the WTCA GBF ITPO Italy highlighted the comprehensive approach of UNIDO's Blue Industry Programmatic Framework — integrating policy development, capacity building, and technology transfer at macro, meso, and micro levels — and selected success stories, including UNIDO activities in Somalia, for value-chain development and industrialization strategies to enhance blue economy in both traditional and innovative sectors.
