Rome, Italy - 13th December 2024

MoU signed between IFCC and Unioncamere

A Memorandum of Understanding between the presidents of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce (IFCC) and Unioncamere — the Italian Union of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Handcrafts and Agriculture — was officially signed in Rome on 13th December 2024.

Objective of the MoU is to strengthen business relations and develop reciprocal cooperation between Italy and Iraq, promoting the exchange of know-how and facilitating contacts among relevant stakeholders from the two countries, with a particular focus on SMEs.

UNIDO ITPO Italy contributed in a fundamental way to this signature, as confirmed also by the President of IFCC Mr. Abdulrazzaq, who in his official speech thanked UNIDO for its constant contribution to the strengthening of the private sector in Iraq, offering to IFCC and the entire local ecosystem not only material support through the crucial role of the UNIDO Enterprise Development Centers, but also a contribution in terms of ideas and at a strategic level.

The signing ceremony — held at the monumental archaeological complex of Piazza Sallustio — was attended, among others, by the Ambassador of Iraq to Rome His Excellency Saywan Barzani, the Chairman of the Business Council Mr. Salar Saleh, and Mr. Raed Nazar Jamal Al-Sammarraie from IFCC, who had participated in the 2024 edition of the UNIDO Delegate Program.
